Ashford Caricature Artist to hire

Planning an event? I’m Dave, the artist behind Groves Caricatures. Since 2012, I’ve drawn over 65,000 live caricatures, transforming guests into hilarious, personalized works of art in just minutes.

As a dedicated wedding artist and cartoonist in Ashford, I don’t just sit in a corner; I’m a walkabout caricature artist who moves amongst your guests. My goal is to create a genuine buzz—mixing “table-hopping” at weddings with a bit of “sparkling mayhem” at 50th birthday blasts and corporate awards ceremonies.

Whether you’re in Tenterden, Folkestone, or a picturesque village in West Kent, I’m ready to humour your guests and capture those convincing funny faces that keep people talking long after the party ends.

All of my guests absolutely loved the way he engaged with them and the final caricature(s) that was presented to them. I would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend him as a great form of original entertainment for parties and functions. Lots of my guests were able to take home something to remember such a special night. ***** Thank you again GC, top class artist :)

He is easy to communicate with, friendly, professional, self sufficient and gets straight to it, making everyone feel at ease.
Everyone got to keep their picture and we will treasure ours with wonderful memories. Well worth the money.
Thankyou

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. David is the most wonderfully talented Caricaturist. He added so much to the uniqueness of our special wedding day.
He was wonderful with our guests and created both a genuine rapport whilst drawing the most incredible likness of each individual.
Each of our guests was delighted with their caricature to take home with them.
We recommend purchasing cardboard tubes for each guest to keep their drawing pristine.

I met David at my friend’s wedding party and was so impressed with his caricatures I immediately knew I wanted him for our wedding entertainment. David is friendly, chatty and so talented - from the moment he arrived our guests were queuing up for a caricature and it brought so much laughter and entertainment. I’d highly recommend David to anyone who is looking for something fun and quirky for their wedding. Thank you!

Gary Oldman Caricature

Did you know the legendary Gary Oldman has roots right here in Ashford? Although he only called Stanhope home for a few years, it’s more than enough for us to officially claim him as one of our own!

To celebrate our local Hollywood heavyweight, I’ve sketched this caricature of Gary as the iconic Jackson Lamb from Slow Horses. As the disgruntled MI5 agent leading the misfits of Slough House, his performance is pure genius. The writing, the grit, the drama—it’s all just damn good television. I absolutely adore the show, and it was a joy to capture such a brilliant (and local) talent.
